What is an SFTP server?
An SFTP server provides a secure storage environment that is accessible only to authorized users. It uses the Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) to ensure that file transfers are encrypted, protecting data from unauthorized access during transmission.
What can an SFTP server be used for?
Users can upload files to the SFTP server that are to be imported into Agicap, such as expected payments (open items, purchase orders and sales orders).
Similarly, files can be exported from Agicap to the SFTP server, which users can then download from the server, such as a list of bank transactions.

What is an SSH key pair required for?
Authentication plays a central role when connecting to an SFTP server. This process typically involves the use of an SSH key pair, consisting of a private key and a corresponding public key.
The private key remains with the user and should not be shared. The public key is stored on the server and functions as a lock. The lock can only be opened with the matching private key.
Who’s hosting the server?
It is recommended that Agicap hosts the SFTP server. However, if necessary, we can also connect to the SFTP server hosted by our clients.
